At a Royal Institution lecture last night on the worst ideas on the
mind there were some polite, but nevertheless underhand, tactics on
show in an attempt to sway the vote towards one of four ideas. The
ideas were lobotomy, drug company advertising, post-trauma
counselling and the Freudian theory of hysteria.
The results are in: Eggs from hens allowed to peck on pasture are a
HECK of a lot better than those from chickens raised in cages.
Highlights include 1/3rd less cholesterol, 1/4 the saturated fat,
and WAY more vitamin A, E, omega-3's, and beta carotene. Is YOUR

We're more than a month late with our usual quarterly roundup, but
at least we have a good excuse: Chris had a baby in September (and
